Program Overview:

Provides support and assistance for operation of St. Clair County satellite office and shelter service delivery for victims of domestic violence and their children, including crisis intervention services, assist with providing safety planning services, housing and legal advocacy and outreach education.

Essential Functions:

Assist with providing crisis intervention services, including monitoring program participant activities, conducting intake procedures and assist with answering domestic violence hotline calls.

Assist with planning and support of client permanency goals, including gathering data to explore client eligibility for various housing programs, identifying and assist with updating housing and community resources information.

Provide assistance with referral services for job readiness, financial literacy, safety planning, legal advocacy and other community resources to remove barriers to obtaining and maintaining permanent housing.

Assist with providing transportation services (in agency vehicle) for shelter clients to complete self sufficient action steps.

Assist with implementing special events, new programs, and support services for domestic violence victims in St. Clair County as requested.

Maintain detailed statistics and evaluations on programs.

Assist with the data entry needs of organization and various programs.

Attend required meetings and in-service trainings.

Assist with volunteer recruitment, oversight, training and service delivery.

Assist in recruiting schools in St. Clair County to participate in the YWCA's Healthy Relationships program.  Provide support to coordinate and facilitate the healthy relationship sessions as needed.

Represent the YWCA at speaking engagements and community events as requested.

Adhere to the policies of the YWCA.

Marginal Functions:

Perform all other duties deemed necessary for the smooth operation of the program and the agency as directed.

Academic and Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Some college courses required.

The AmeriCorps position starts September 2018 and concludes August 2019. The position is located in Pell City, AL and serves Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
