Freshwater Land Trust Seeking AmeriCorps Member

Freshwater Land Trust is recruiting an Outreach Coordinator AmeriCorps member through the YWCA’s Building Communities, Bettering Lives AmeriCorps program. The Outreach Coordinator will assist the Land Trust staff developing and managing meaningful volunteer opportunities on properties for the general public, corporate or civic groups and our Board and Jr. Board.  The Outreach Coordinator will have an opportunity to represent the Land Trust at public and partner events such as the Moss Rock Festival, Land Aid, Health Fairs and others.  As we expand our education and internship programs, the Outreach Coordinator will help the Land Steward coordinate and implement that program.  Public engagement through Social Media and Marketing Materials will also be an area the Outreach Coordinator can contribute.  Anticipated activities include project planning, management and outreach for a water quality protection project in partnership with the City of Birmingham.

The Outreach Coordinator will assist the Conservation Programs Director for Landowner Outreach with agricultural and forestry Landowners.  Must be flexible and available to work weekend activities as necessary.

The AmeriCorps position starts September 2018 and concludes August 2019. The position is located in Birmingham and serves Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Some evening or weekend service is required.  Men and women are encouraged to apply.
