Freshwater Land Trust Seeking AmeriCorps Member

Freshwater Land Trust is recruiting a Red Rock Trail Assistant AmeriCorps member through the YWCA’s Building Communities, Bettering Lives AmeriCorps program. The Red Rock Trail Assistant Assist will assist with communication efforts and promotion of the Red Rock Trail, coordinate and attend meetings with the Red Rock Coordinator to plan the advancement of the trail, assist with trail surveys, identify community needs within the Red Rock plan, and represent the land trust at community events throughout Jefferson County.  Weekend and after hours work will be a part of this position.

The AmeriCorps position starts September 2018 and concludes August 2019. The position is located in Birmingham and serves Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Some evening or weekend service is required.  Men and women are encouraged to apply. A bachelor’s degree is required. A passion for serving the community and commitment of one year is expected of all. Extensive background checks are performed on members.
