Birmingham-Southern College is searching for a Grants Administrator to further develop and manage a recently created Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs within the Office of the Provost. This position supports the growth of the College’s external sponsored funding portfolio by providing leadership in the pursuit of grants and oversight of sponsored programs in alignment with the College’s mission and strategic goals. The grants administrator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal administrative requirements and costing principles, state regulations, grantor restrictions, and college fiscal policies. The grants administrator oversees all aspects of proposal administration, sponsored program agreements, and contract negotiation with external agencies. The position also collaborates with Academic Affairs and other College divisions to develop policies and procedures that encourage and support grant activity at Birmingham-Southern College.
A Bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years full time experience working in the field of grants administration and research management is required. A Master’s degree and additional two (2) years of experience and CRA (Certified Research Administrator) and/or CPRA (Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator) is preferred.
Prior experience with grant proposal submission, budget management, and data reporting experience with federal, state, and non-profit organizations is also required. A record of successful grant submissions and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
