This position is responsible for the development and provision of trauma informed services to the Hispanic Community and collaborating with agencies serving this population; facilitating parenting classes in English and Spanish: supervising Parent Educator Contractors; maintaining and preparing group material; researching, and active leadership and participation in community outreach activities. This is a full time position based in Birmingham. Travel required, some overnight.
Must be fluent in Spanish and knowledgeable of Hispanic Culture. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Education; Master’s Preferred. Licensed or license eligible, if applicable to degree. One year of comparable experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with outcomes development, tracking, and achievement. Experience with quality improvement. Ability to motivate clients and assist them in changing behaviors. Knowledge of community resources. Understanding of children, parenting, basic life skills and ability to teach them to others. Ability to work well with other team members. Ability to demonstrate cultural and socioeconomic proficiency. Understanding of trauma informed care. Must have reliable automobile, valid AL driver's license and liability insurance with bodily injury limits of 100/300, clearance with the Alabama Central Registry on Child Abuse and Neglect, and/or other clearances that may be legally mandated or authorized.
