Railroad Park Foundation seeks a candidate to serve in an unpaid internship as Membership & Volunteer Intern for the fall 2018 semester. Those interested should apply by submitting a cover letter and resume to

The basic responsibilities of the position include:

  • Assist staff with Volunteer Program
    • Recruit and retain volunteers
    • Assist with volunteer orientations
    • Manage entry of volunteer data into software system
  • Work with Special Projects Coordinator to promote the Railroad Park Foundation Membership Program
    • Retain members through communication and follow-up with existing, new and lapsed members
    • Identify opportunities for member recruitment
    • Manage membership data & entry of new member/donor information
  • Assist Development Specialist with Donor Stewardship
    • Write thank-you letters
    • Assist with event invitation creation/distribution
  • Greet Visitors - welcome walk-in visitors to Railroad Park Foundation office and answer office phone to provide an overall positive member/visitor/donor experience.
  • Other duties as assigned, including assist staff members with various team projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Positive, outgoing attitude
  • Exceptional people skills, particularly in dealing with the general public
  • Proven writing, grammar, and communication abilities
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, remain flexible, and provide excellent customer service in a high-pressure environment with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to serve as part of a team
  • Self-motivated; strong service ethic; seeks opportunities to help
  • Database / computer management experience
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software and internet
