Administrative Support / Clerk
Birmingham-Southern College has an opening for a part-time Office Assistant in the Office of Religious Life. The Office Assistant provides an administrative link between the Chaplain/Director of Religious Life, Associate Director of Religious Life, and all who use the Religious Life Program. The Office Assistant is responsible for creating marketing/design content for Religious Life and Student Development and tracking financial activities for the office.
The Office Assistant is responsible for designing and overseeing the publication of communication/marketing materials including creating content for social media, designing flyers and t-shirts, and coordinating communication with pastors and youth directors. Other duties include acting as first point of contact for Religious Life, managing office and chapel calendars, coordinating special events, arranging travel, and managing department expenses. This position will work 25-30 hours per week and assist with Student Development related events during some evenings and weekends.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required and bachelor’s degree preferred. One year of administrative/office assistant experience is required. Two – Three years of experience preferred. Qualified candidates will have experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic design software tools, such as Canva.. The successful candidate must possess excellent written communication skills, attention to detail, and superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize. Experience in marketing and social media is preferred.
