Mission:  The mission of the agency is to strengthen families and break the cycle of child abuse and neglect by providing education and support services for both parents and children.

 Essential PAT Job Requirements:

  • Hold caseload of 12 families providing at least 2 visits per month for PAT program
  • Personal Visits take place in the client’s home and will last 1 – 1.5 hours per visit
  • Personal visits are documented no more than two workdays after the visit entered into Penelope Data system and ETO system in required timeline
  • Utilize Parent Educator Resources, Toolkit and Parent Handouts from the PAT Curriculum to share information with families
  • Address all three areas primary focus areas outlined by the PAT curriculum in personal visits, including immediate or crisis situations.
  • During each personal visit, parent educators partner, facilitate and reflect with families while also being aware of the family’s culture, language, interest, and learning styles
  • Discuss each child’s emerging development with parents, incorporating parent and parent educator observations
  • Build upon and adapt to the home environment, seeking to transfer personal visit activities to daily interactions between parents and children
  • Help families recognize and expand upon their existing strengths and protective factors
  • Encourage families to foster literacy in the home environment
  • Provide & document program assessments during home visits.
  • Provide activities to the family during home visits. Engage with both parents and children.


Essential Job Requirements through ECCAP:


  • Must maintain caseload with required visits completed monthly
  • Must enter data in a timely manner to comply with grant stipulations
  • Must attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, and maintain specific manager connection schedules.
  • Must report all suspected abuse/neglect to the Department of Human Resources and immediate supervisor in writing.
  • Collaborating with staff to strengthen programs, enhance learning and improve internal systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by Program Manager/Lead PE/Executive Director.


Non-essential Job Functions:


  • Serving as a backup to staff for group facilitation
  • Assisting with Center fundraisers and special events.




  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling or related human services field. Minimum of 2 years working with adults or children in a social service agency, in-home visitation experience preferred.
  • Flexibility in hours dictated by client and Center needs will be required. May include some evening and weekend hours.

  • Strong time management & organization skills a must
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn quickly with IT systems
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills-both expressive and written.
  • Ability to manage one’s own activities with minimum direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of child development and family systems theory.
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to access community resources.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical issues relative to confidentiality of client records and professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge of behavior modification and disciplinary techniques, problem solving and coping skills.
  • Skilled in interpersonal relationships and dynamics.
  • Ability to set limits with clients relative to services that will be provided.
  • Knowledge of casework principles and goal directed services.
