Organization Summary:
Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center (Forge) offers support, knowledge, strength and direction to breast cancer survivors and their loved ones. Forge is a partnership created by Brookwood Baptist Health, The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, Grandview Medical Center, St. Vincent’s Health System, and UAB Medicine. Through Forge, all those touched by breast cancer can bond with others to Forge a new future.

Job Summary:
Forge is seeking an energetic and highly organized individual to join our team as a Program Associate. The Program Associate will be responsible for a variety of high-impact programming that Forge offers the community. The Program Associate will also work closely with Forge staff members to provide direct services to breast cancer survivors and their loved ones.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee current programs & create new programs, including professional education programs and monthly lifestyle classes
• Evaluate programs and report outcomes
• Oversee program budget and resources with support of Manager
• Assist with marketing of programs
• Establish and maintain relationships with program partners
• Provide direct services to clients including:
- Provide telephone support services
- Perform intake assessments and create individualized plans for new clients
- Compile information and resources
- Administer follow-up assessments
• Work with Volunteer Coordinator to lead and implement volunteer trainings
• Participate in community outreach, presentations, and events
• Other duties as assigned

Complexity of Work:
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Candidate must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, superior attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication and a sense of humor. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's level degree; Advanced degree preferred
Preferred: Licensed Social Worker or similar qualifications

Work Experience:
Minimum of three years of experience in one or more of the following areas, preferably in a nonprofit setting: experience in developing, managing and overseeing programming, teaching or public speaking, and case management

Additional preferred qualifications:
• Valid driver's license and transportation
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), and Google applications
