Job Title:       Senior Accountant                                     

Location:       Montgomery, AL     

Status:           Full-time

Schedule:      Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm    

FLSA:             Non-Exempt

 

Job Summary

The duties of the Senior Accountant covers multiples areas of general ledger accounting including, but not limited to processing account payables, account receivables, budgeting, fixed assets, trusts, bank statement reconciliations, audit preparation and assisting the Accounting Manager and/or VP of Finance and Administration with financial reporting and analysis and other special projects as may be assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a concentration in accounting from an accredited college or university required and five (5) years progressive accounting experience and proficiency using Excel and general ledger accounting software programs required. Or, Associate Degree in Accounting from a reputable vocational or business school with eight (8) years of progressive accounting experience and proficiency using Excel and general ledger accounting software required. Previous experience in or responsibility for accounts payable and accounts receivable required. Payroll experience (to include payroll tax filings and returns) highly desired. Master’s Degree in Business Administration from an accredited college or university and/or CPA certification highly desired. Previous inter-company accounting experience highly desired. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written, and an ability to interact in a professional manner with staff, stakeholders and the general public. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality as situations dictate. Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence. Must have reliable transportation, proof of automobile liability insurance and driving record that will allow coverage on Agency’s insurance policy. Must receive a satisfactory background check that includes a check of employment and personal references, criminal history, driving record, Child Abuse and Neglect (Alabama), Affidavit of Good Moral Character (Florida), professional reference, criminal history, driving record, and pass a pre-employment physical including TB skin test and drug screen.
