Basic Function: Responsible for the implementation of reading and math instruction during the YWCA’s Summer Enrichment Program

Operational Dates:   Monday, June 4, 2018-Wednesday, July 25, 2018 (excluding July 4th-6th)

Basic Responsibilities: 

  • Prepares and implements creative lesson plans that will meet student needs as indicated by Reading and Math assessments using YWCA program materials and other educational tools
  • Develops a teaching style that is innovative and intriguing, as well as conducive to a summer learning environment
  • Collaborates with Summer Enrichment Coordinator, staff, and parents to ensure that students’ educational needs are met
  • Implements appropriate classroom management skills
  • Submits lesson plans and other required documentation by indicated deadlines
  • Maintains professionalism and exercises use of interpersonal skills when interacting with staff, parents, and students
  • Maintains confidentiality of students and parents
  • May be required to attend and supervise students during off-site field trips
  • Must be able to attend all required trainings


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education
Teaching certification REQUIRED
Experience teaching Math and/or Reading (1st-8th grades)
Experience in Reading Intervention is a plus
