Leads, directs and organizes the UWCA planned giving program, called Legacy Gifts. Facilitates the integration of planned giving activities within the organization. Partners with volunteer leadership to identify, cultivate and solicit prospective donors. Coordinates ongoing donor relationships through regular contact, communications and follow-up. Maintains high standard of internal communications with Sr. Vice-President Resource Development, V.P. of Major Gifts and Resource Development Staff.
Knowledge / Skills Strong organizational skills, strong listening skills, attention to detail, and effective time management. Ability to function effectively with top prospects, volunteers and staff. Ability to organize priorities and be self-motivated. Successful track record in marketing intangible products or programs. Working knowledge of estate and tax planning vehicles, or a desire to learn. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficient and adaptable in the use of data base management and software programs, or a desire to learn. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration or related field Working Conditions: General business office environment with significant time spent making sales and relationship visits. Frequent local travel with out-of -town travel occasionally. Job requires attendance at after business hour events and activities. Experience: 5 years experience in gift planning, fundraising, or prior United Way fundraising experience. Work history should include client development, prospecting, cultivation and support, preferably with planned giving experience. Candidate for this position should have significant competency working with those in the investment, trust, legal and insurance field. Other: Reliable transportation, proof of automobile insurance and valid driver license
